Our Ranch Sign
You enter our
ranch on Shake Ridge Road. Our sign got pretty close to the county
snow plow's pile!

Top of our Driveway
Mike's got his quad and plow
to tackle the driveway - this has been pretty much a daily occurrence
and the snow is piling up. The road ends up being pretty narrow
at the top after plowing - no room for horse trailers!

Plowing down the road
It's the good 'ol California
Snot Snow! Turns to ice as the temperature isn't warming enough
to melt it!

Bottom of Drive before plow
Here's the view from the
middle part of our driveway as it heads up the hill - notice the
tracks. Our local deer herds keep busy at night.

Looking out from our Barn
We need to pole vault over
the pile of snow that falls off the barn roof!

Horses enjoying breakfast
And the sun! Our horses have
nice winter coats and with shelters located at various locations
around the paddock, they have the opportunity to get out of the
weather by their own choice.

Sancho scratching his face
Sancho sunning himself behind
the barn shelters - after a good stretch, he finds an itch to
scratch!

Paddock munching
Horse groups are munching
their breakfast. They will all head for the sunniest spot as soon
as nap times arrives soon after breakfast

Buddy the Barn cat
He's always happy when the
barn is opened in the morning. And sun is a good thing for kitties! |
