NO NAIS If you value your rights to own, ride, transport your horse, then you must read all you can about the USDA's ill-conceived plan to regulate the livestock industry - including HORSES! I've included web site links that are both in favor and opposed to NAIS. My opinion (and many others as well) is that it is a costly, unenforceable, unconstitutional governmental scheme and would result, if enacted (and it looks possible) in just one more law that is guaranteed to be broken by the small farmer and horse owner. It also will not solve the problem it is allegedly designed to solve, making our meat safe (read this as meat produced by large corporate meat producers). FARFA shall serve as an advocate in the legislatures and the courts for the many thousands of independent farmers, ranchers, livestock owners, and homesteaders in this country.
