Silver Fiddle Ranch’s Windhorse program, founded by Lola Blevins came together as a calling to offer people a path for personal growth through nature and through horses. Lola holds a Master of Arts degree in Psychology and is currently working toward a MA in Transpersonal Psychology through the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP). Transpersonal Psychology draws on mind, body, and spirit disciplines and includes the natural world as an integral part of who we are. The Windhorse programs offered at Silver Fiddle Ranch approach healing and learning through a holistic lens integrating our natural world through the eye of the horse. Our program is rooted in unconditional love, genuineness and authenticity, empathy and compassion as the foundation for healing, personal growth and development.
Lola completed a one-year facilitator study program with Cathryn Clerc of Hippocrene Spring’s The Art of Listening Within. Cathryn holds an MA in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is an Epona Approved Instructor who completed a two-year program with Linda Kohanov, founder of the Epona program. In addition to her training in psychology and the Epona study program with Cathryn, Lola’s resume includes many years as a usability engineer with fortune 500 companies, independent consultant and web-site designer. Her work with horses includes horsemanship and riding instructor, being a student of the horse from the horses point of view (Harry Whitney, Shea Stewart), and natural barefoot hoof trimmer (PHCP member). Lola’s time is divided between running her ranch on a day-to-basis, barefoot hoof trimming and mentoring others in the field of barefoot trimming, participating in various community organizations in Amador County CA dedicated to human welfare and the conservation of resources in our beautiful county; and of course managing the ranch and studying for her graduate degree.
Lola has dedicated the last 15 years working with mentors and teachers who have demonstrated pronounced horse-human communication abilities. Learning to communicate with the horse through the horse’s point of view has led her to deepen her awareness of the healing power of horses as it has led to her own personal healing and growth. The inspiration to create Windhorse has come from her own healing through her horse’s wisdom and her desire to share this wisdom with others.
Horses have much to teach us, through their spirit, their emotions, and their intuitive minds, and if we listen carefully to them, they will speak to us.
